7am pickup at hotel, travel approximately 3 hrs in a 4x4 in the area between Cabrerias Misti and Chachani. We visit local attractions, the national reserve of Salinas and Agua Blanca, and a short stop to see the vicuna. Arrival at the highest point of the route, Azufrero (4980 masl). Short talk about the gears and brakes on our bikes, choice of protective equipment and description of the route to be taken.
Part One: Drop of 1000 m. Road zigzags, rocky and sandy, tight curves and steep, for a distance of 10 kilometres. It is recommended to have a minimum knowledge of technical mountain biking.
Part Two: Area named Dead Horse, 4000 masl, a distance of 16 miles and ascending up to 4200 metres
Part Three: This last part is the longest in distance and unevenness 2000m long. Descends from 4200 masl. Return to Arequipa in approximately 2 hours along a road without traffic, the final part is connected with the paved road, riding at a speed of 40 to 45 kph on bicycles.
2pm-4pm. Entrance to the city, making the last stop at Carmen Alto lookout, ending the ride and transfer to the hotel. in three hours, 90% compact road and the rest is sandy.
